My top 10 favorite cartoons REVISITED

A while back, you might remember my top 10 cartoons list I made in the summer. Well, here is an updated version because I felt that list was quite poor. Any way, without further ado, let me begin.

Before I start, I'm going to list honorable mentions:
- The Simpsons
- Courage the Cowardly Dog
- The Weekenders.
- Beavis and Butthead
- Dexter's Laboratory
- Pinky and the Brain
- Johnny Bravo
- Pokemon (BEFORE Diamond and Pearl)
- Spongebob (Seasons 1-3 ONLY)
- Camp Lazlo.
- Ren and Stimpy (excluding the infamous Adult Party Cartoon spinoff)
- Futurama
- Zatch Bell
- Regular Show
- Teacher's Pet

Now let's start the list:

10. Catscratch (Creator: Douglas Tennapel. Nickelodeon, 2005-2007. 1 season, 20 episodes)  Probably the shortest lived show on here, but not a terrible one. My favorite creator, Doug Tennapel, worked on this amazing series about 3 feline brothers going on comical misadventures. Little known fact, this was adapted from a graphic novel of his called Gear which was darker and edgier. DON'T GET GEAR FOR KIDS!

9. Pepper Ann (Creator: Sue Rose. Disney. 1997-2001. 5 seasons, 65 episodes) Who's that girl, what's her name? Is she cool, is she lame? Oh you're talking about what's her name. PEPPER ANN! Sorry, couldn't resist. Pepper Ann, as opposed to the majority on the list, was more centering on the character's life and about her daily endeavors at middle school. It's Disney's only accurate school life show to be honest (come on, what did High School Musical teach you about High School. NOTHING!). The characters are also lovable and unique (as opposed to Disney's MODERN bullshit). Milo Kamalani is my favorite character on the show. Too bad Disney has yet to release this on DVD.

8. Invader Zim (Creator: Jhonen Vasquez. Nickelodeon. 2001-2002. 1 1/2 seasons*, 27 episodes) The great and powerful Zim, ZIM, has the 8th spot. I just love this comic duo as they try to take over the world. Sorry Pinky and the Brain, Invader Zim just felt like a better experience. Dark Comedy, GIR's stupidity, and Zim's personality make this one fucked up show very hilarious. I'll admit it is very overrated however.

7. Rocko's Modern Life (Creator: Joe Murray. Nickelodeon. 1993-1996. 4 seasons, 52 episodes) My favorite nicktoon has got to be Rocko's Modern Life. The "subtle" adult humor (I easily found the jokes within the first episode. HOW DARE YOU?! anyone...), the clever writing, and the reason why Spongebob exists (but shouldn't still be on the air, I'm looking at you, A pal for gary). It's also the reason why Camp Lazlo exists also, but to a lesser extent. Too bad the caught the "Chokey Chicken" joke. (In case you don't know what "choke the chicken" means, it means masturbation. Just lettin' ya know)

6. Recess (Creators: Paul Germain and Joe Ansolabehere. Disney. 1997-2001. 5 seasons, 65 episodes, 2 movies). Recess, as with :iconwhompywhomperson:, is my favorite show from Disney. I love how nice it parodies history such as Monopolization (Economics of Recess), prison escape movies (The Break-In), and many more. It makes me wish my recess was like this. The characters were pretty cool and likable, especially T.J. If only Disney now made better shows again (P & F, Gravity Falls, and Wander over Yander are fine, I'm just talking about the garbage shows Disney has).

5. The Powerpuff Girls (Creator: Craig McCracken. Cartoon Network. 1998-2005. 6 seasons, 78 episodes, 1 movie). Yes, I like this show. Deal with it. Before I talk about why, ANY comment saying "OMG. UR GAY. U LIEK THE POWERPUF GIRLZ! U SUK!" or something like that will be flagged as spam and hidden, so THINK BEFORE YA COMMENT! Now then, let's begin. The premise is that a bunch of little girls with super powers go and beat the shit outta villains. Also, before you do make fun of me, might I point out that Craig McCracken was going to make this as an adult show. It's original title was "The Whoop-Ass Girls" after all. In fact the majority of the humor can be summed up here:  www.youtube.com/watch?v=kfX4c6…

4. The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy. (Creator: Maxwell Atoms. Cartoon Network. 2003-2007. 7 seasons, 71 episodes, 3 movies) Ah, The Grim Adventures. This show was downright hilarious, especially right here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=LgGmQZ… :icondestroyusallplz: Who could forget the iconic Destroy us all moment along with Fred Fredburger (:iconfredfredburgerplz: YES!) It's another Dark comedy, but not to the high extent of Invader Zim.

3. Samurai Jack (Creator: Genndy Tartakovsky. Cartoon Network. 2001-2004. 4 seasons, 52 episodes.) All I have to say about this show is that it kicks so much ass that there is no more ass left to kick. An epic battle between Jack and Aku in a dystopian future where Aku's evil is law. Jack now must find a time portal to go back and prevent this future from existing. An epic homage to samurai movies... IN THE FUTURE! I can't say much about this. You need to experience this kick-ass show.

2. Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends (Creator: Craig McCracken. 2004-2009. 6 seasons, 74 episodes, 2 movies) I really have a taste for buddy media. From Jak and Daxter (Sony, where is my Jak 4 at? I don't want The Lost Frontier as an excuse), Ratchet and Clank, etc. However, this show stood out (albeit Jak and Daxter are still kickass, VERY KICKASS, but no rants there.) as a decent, imaginative (no pun intended) buddy show with a unique world. The writing was also very witty and clever. Now for...

1. Ed Edd n Eddy (Creator: Danny Antonucci. 1999-2009. 6 seasons, 69 episodes, 1 movie) Ed Edd n Eddy. What to say about this one.  This is my favorite cartoon cartoon and my favorite cartoon in general. I've never seen as many likable (save for the Kankers, Sarah, and Jimmy) characters as this show (another media with likable characters was Jak and Daxter, so many characters...) with witty writing, believable characters, unique ideas, etc. This had some of the most memorable episodes also such as Dawn of the Eds (Robot Rebel Ranch anyone?), Avast Ye Eds (My friends favorite moment is in there. Here is a compimation of Ed moments for convenience: www.youtube.com/watch?v=P3JM4P…, and Hot Buttered Ed, just to name a few.

That's all.

*Invader Zim had a few unfinished episodes. The surviving recordings are on Youtube however.

If there were a #11, would it be The simpsons?
